Kidney Bean Update

Good Morning!

I am so bad at updating our blog.

For those of you following our facebook page, you know that on May 20th Scott will be receiving a kidney from his cousin Leah.  We are very excited and very thankful!  What we know now is that Scott will go in on May 17th for his presurgery work and then he will have to be at the hospital at 10 on Monday for surgery.  Our biggest prayer request right now is that both Scott and Leah stay healthy.

As far as we know, the surgery will last about 4 hours.  After surgery (depending on how things go) Scott will be in ICU for 1-3 days and in the hospital for 5-7 days.  Again, we will know more when the time comes.  The surgery will take place at Integris Baptist.  As far as visitors go, we know for a fact that you will be able to come and visit family.  However, again depending on circumstances with surgery, we don't know if you will be able to see Scott or Leah.  It will probably be in small groups.  Of course, if you or a family member is sick, we do ask that you stay home.  I know that sounds mean, but we want to keep Scott and Leah as healthy as possible.  Scott will be recovering for about 6 weeks after, so we can plan a time to visit when you are healthy.

Another big event happening that day is what we are calling "Show Your Support for Scott and Leah Day" by wearing your Kidney Bean Project tshirt.  If you do not have a tshirt and would like one, we are selling them again until May 1st.  Our hope is that they will be no more than $10.  If you would like one, please log on to our facebook page, or email us at thekidneybeanproject@gmail.com with your size.

Thank you so much for your love and prayers!

23 days to go!
